Many Indians have reported receiving calls and messages from international numbers on Twitter and other social media platforms, including WhatsApp.
Fraudsters are using social media like WhatsApp and Telegram as a tool to cheat people and extort money. Those who used to send WhatsApp links or ask them to download apps are now using these new ways of calling and messaging from international numbers and offering part-time jobs to users. Part-time jobs are highly preferred by Indians, hence fraudsters have adopted this tactic. Fraudsters cheat people and steal millions of money through part-time employment.
These calls have become more common over the past few weeks. Many Indians have reported receiving calls and messages from international numbers on Twitter and other social media platforms, including WhatsApp. These calls and messages mostly come from unknown numbers and people are confused by these calls. Those who keep receiving such calls or messages on WhatsApp are advised to immediately do some useful things given below without any tension.
1) Don’t answer any call from unknown me on WhatsApp If you get a call from an international number you are not familiar with yet, it is better to avoid answering it. When you respond to such calls or messages there is a high chance that you will fall into a scam and risk losing money.
2) Be aware that if someone calls or sends a message from an international number claiming to give you a prize or win a lottery, it could definitely be a scam. So if you get such messages don’t reply to those messages and if necessary report on WhatsApp.
3) If you receive multiple calls from the same international number, it is better to block that number immediately. You can block a number by tapping on the number in the call block area and selecting the option to block that number.
